I’ve always been into fitness even from a young age. I was in most of the school sports teams and played hockey and netball for teams outside of school. I looked to join the RAF as PTI at the age of 17 but soon realised that life in the military was not what I wanted. I did work experience with Dorset Police PT and had a love for training and teaching and putting people through their paces. I carried on with my own training and helping friends train for races and have always loved helping people achieve their fitness dreams.

Before life as a personal trainer I worked in various roles from travelling the world working in hospitality on cruise ships to a central London office job at Time Out magazine so I understand the stress and pressures of office life. It was from Time Out that I was made redundant and used this as the opportunity to retrain and focus on what I was really passionate about. I soon realised that I didn’t want to work indoors in a gym and I wanted to be mobile and be outside in the parks and enjoying East London. I spend my days cycling around East London on my bike to clients either in their homes or in one of our lovely parks.

I have experience of working with clients of all levels and ability from working with ladies during and after their pregnancies to helping clients train for their first half marathon or working with physiotherapist and Osteotherapists to help clients with rehabilitation after an injury or surgery.

When I am not working you can find me on the beach attempting to surf, cycling in the hills or running in the countryside or climbing a rock face. I love being in London but also love exploring the countryside and being by the sea.

You will also find me teaching Prenatal and Postnatal classes or on the &Breathe Postnatal retreats or Massaging at FIX East Village

I’ve always been active, dancing regularly – and competitively – from the age of two to sixteen, but, surprisingly for a personal trainer, sports were never my forte. In fact, I often avoided P.E. like the plague! In my twenties, I swapped tap shoes for trainers and well and truly caught the gym bug. I’d often watch personal trainers working with clients or teaching classes and think, “I can do that”, so I decided to stop thinking about it and actually do it, studying for my Level 3 PT and pre and post-natal personal training qualifications.

Pre-personal training, I worked as a fashion journalist at Look magazine for 8 years, and exercise was a way of counteracting the stress and pressure of busy office life, hectic commute and the effects of spending all day sitting at a desk. More recently, I was Fitness Editor at Women’s Health magazine, a role that involved working with various fitness experts, bolstering my knowledge as a personal trainer.

After having my son in February 2019, I knew I wanted more of a work/life balance, and now combine personal training with writing – the best of both worlds! Having trained throughout my pregnancy and returned to exercise safely after my C-section, I knew I wanted to empower other women to do the same, and cut through the often-confusing noise and misinformation surrounding exercise in pregnancy and the post-partum period.

I have experience working with clients of varying abilities and am passionate about training for strength and functionality.

When I’m not working, I’ll be taking walks with my son and husband in nearby Epping Forest, reading a book or escaping back to my native Newcastle for some family time and fresh sea air.

I have always been active; netball and athletics had my heart throughout school - an important mix of working together to form the strongest playing team versus the mental strength to run alone. The power, the speed, and the adrenaline got me, and has stayed with me ever since.

Fuelled by training harder, pushing further and achieving something greater...exercise was once an escapism, but is now a lifestyle.

Having spent almost 15 years at my desk, planning media campaigns for some of the biggest household brands, I felt that my body was desperate to do more, my mind wanted to learn more (as well as rest more) and my ability to teach, support and role model to others, was something I knew I was ready for.

So here I am - passionate about not only my own health and fitness, but yours too. Our bodies are capable of so much, and with the right tools, encouragement and confidence, you deserve to find the best possible version of yourself.

Exercise is just as important as eating and sleeping. Food is fuel and our bodies are made to move. I have a diploma in Nutrition for Health and Performance, alongside my Personal Training qualifications, so I'm keen to join you at whatever point you're at, on your health and fitness journey, and do whatever it takes, to help you achieve your goals.

If I'm not training (myself or others), I'm relaxing with friends, family or a good book. Rest is key. Balance is key. And so is vitamin D!
