Every massage session begins with a detailed assessment to understand your body and needs. This includes:

-
Biomechanics & Movement Patterns – Observing how your body moves to pinpoint areas of imbalances

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ)
TMJ – What Is It?
The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) connects your lower jawbone to your skull.
It allows your jaw to move—so you can talk, chew, yawn, and express yourself.
In fact, it’s the most frequently used joint in the body.
One in four people have TMJ issues.
Common TMJ- Related Symptoms
• Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
• Dizzy spells
• Earaches (without infection)
• Difficulty swallowing or speaking
• Headaches or migraines
• Pain or tenderness around the ear, jaw, neck, face, or shoulders
• Worn teeth from grinding
• Facial muscle twitching
• Difficulty sleeping
• Sensitivity to light or noise
• Bruxism (teeth grinding)
• Trismus (reduced ability to open the mouth)

The session begins with an assessment of the jaw and your posture. I then use various techniques of trigger point therapy, myofacial release and soft tissue work to help release the area. I use a combination of internal and external jaw techniques, along with targeted work on the neck and shoulders, I can help reduce tension and relieve many of these symptoms and bring function back to your jaw.
