TMJ – What Is It?

The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) connects your lower jawbone to your skull. It allows your jaw to move—so you can talk, chew, yawn, and express yourself. In fact, it’s the most frequently used joint in the body.

Common TMJ-Related Symptoms

• Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) • Dizzy spells • Earaches (without infection) • Difficulty swallowing or speaking • Headaches or migraines • Pain or tenderness around the ear, jaw, neck, face, or shoulders • Worn teeth from grinding • Facial muscle twitching • Difficulty sleeping • Sensitivity to light or noise • Bruxism (teeth grinding) • Trismus (reduced ability to open the mouth)

Through a combination of gentle internal and external jaw techniques, along with targeted work on the neck and shoulders, I can help reduce tension and relieve many of these symptoms.
